Council is seeking a capable and confident driver to delivery Councils kerbside collections services for Tumut and surrounding locations. This is a role that suits a person who enjoys driving, is systematic and doesn’t mind working autonomously. You will need to be able to interpret and follow established collection schedules and resolve day to day issues with a focus on customer service and productivity, referring to the supervisor as required.

The successful applicant will the ability to maintain written records and use basic electronic devices to complete data collection.

THE LOCATION

Snowy Valleys Council is a scenic and heritage rich local government area in the South-West Slopes region of Recent South Wales which spans 8959km2 with approximately 15,000 residents living in a number of vibrant and unique towns, villages and rural properties. THE BENEFITS

- Fortnightly salary range of $2,380.20 to $2,678.90 per fortnight (gross) plus industry allowances and 12% superannuation. Salary offered within the range will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience
- This is a permanent, full time position of 76 hours per fortnight
- 9 day fortnight working arrangement with an RDO every second Friday
- Generous leave entitlements including access to long service leave after 5 years and paid parental leave
- Remote area salary sacrificing options available

SELECTION CRITERIA

- Demonstrated experience in the operation of HR trucks with a current Class HR drivers’ licence.
- Ability to operate specialised plant and equipment correctly and safely.




- Demonstrated experience in the parks and amenities works (e.g mowing, gardening, facilities cleaning, general maintenance).
- Demonstrated ability to follow work schedules and use collection data devices.
- Effective attitude, communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective and respectful working relationships, collaboration and teamwork
- Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- Availability and willingness to work overtime and some weekend work when required.
- Previous experience operating collection vehicles or similar equipment.
- HR Licence
- AQF3 Chemical accreditation
