The Work Health and Safety Manager will be a qualified and experienced operator, dedicated to the safety of our people and the business. This role is ideal for someone wanting to work part time with one company, working in house for approx 16 hours per week. The role will be supported by an external consultant and an in-house employee committee.

Key responsibilities

Exceptional level of commitment to the safety of our people

Maintain and manage Australian WHS regulatory requirements

Strengthen our risk-management framework

Identify WHS risks and compliance gaps

Train management and in-house WHS team to assist with maintaining WHS requirements

Maintain and develop existing safety management plans, incident, injury and hazard-management processes, SWMS, and system registers including risk registers, JSAs, PPE requirements, induction records, corrective actions and equipment maintenance schedules

Maintain safety records to ensure regulatory compliance

Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and SWMS reviews for major subcontractors

Lead toolbox talks, induction training, emergency drills and safety training





Work closely with our external consultant on our return to work policy and workers' compensation management

About you

Formal Australian OHS training

Knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, regulations and industry best practice

2-5 years' experience in residential construction, manufacturing or a similar environment

Impeccable track record with references

A passion to succeed in the role

A proactive, organized and methodical approach

The ability to manage a flexible working arrangement with an on-call approach when needed
