BCA Commercial Interiors is seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join our team on a full-time basis at our Somerton, VIC location. This is a hands-on position where you will operate and maintain woodworking machinery for commercial joinery projects.
What you'll be doing
- Operating woodworking machinery including CNC, edgebander and at times a panel saw as required
- Setting up machinery and tooling as needed
- Monitoring machinery performance and identifying any mechanical issues or defects in materials
- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Quality checking finished components against specifications and reporting any discrepancies
- Safely handling and storing sheets and manufactured components
- Unloading supplier trucks of materials as required
What we're looking for
- Experience in operating woodworking machinery.
- Understanding of cabinet making materials and how they respond to machining
- Robust attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices specific to woodworking environments
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machinery issues
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting materials
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Forklift license is preferred
- Experience in cabinet making assembling and general factory processes are preferred
