The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an Associate with 2–5 years’ PAE to join a high-performing Disputes team in Brisbane. You will work across a broad and sophisticated mix of commercial litigation, insolvency and financial services matters, acting for a diverse range of clients.

The Role

Working within a highly regarded disputes team, you will be involved in a diverse range of complex litigation and dispute resolution matters, including:

- Commercial litigation, including contractual, sale of business and general commercial disputes
- Shareholder and partnership disputes
- Acting for insolvency practitioners, including receivers, liquidators, administrators and trustees, as well as secured and unsecured creditors
- Recovery, investigations and enforcement proceedings
- Claims involving breaches of statutory and fiduciary directors’ duties
- Advising major banks, non-bank and private lenders on financial services disputes, enforcement and insolvency matters
- Regulatory investigations and proceedings involving directors and officers, including matters before ASIC and other regulators
- Property disputes, including joint venture and development disputes
- Competition and consumer law matters
- Complex fraud, asset tracing and recovery proceedings
- Alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and negotiations





You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your matters, work closely with clients and develop your strategic and technical skills across a range of complex disputes. The role offers exposure to high-quality, often large-scale matters, with a strong emphasis on practical, commercially focused outcomes.

About You

This opportunity will suit a motivated Associate with 2-5 years’ PAE who is looking to continue developing their career within a sophisticated disputes practice.

You will have solid commercial litigation experience and a genuine interest in working across complex disputes, insolvency and financial services matters. Strong technical capability, commercial awareness and the ability to build effective client relationships will be highly valued.

Ideally, you will have experience gained within a specialist CBD, mid-tier or top-tier firm and be looking to join a collaborative team where you can continue to develop your practice.
