BMS Service Technician | Defence Contract

Join a growing building automation team delivering a newly secured Defence contract across NSW. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced BMS Service Technician to work across critical Defence infrastructure, supporting a diverse range of BMS platforms while enjoying long‑term job security, technical variety and genuine career growth.

This is a full‑time position primarily based at Williamtown, supporting Defence facilities across the region with occasional travel to other sites as required.

The Role

As a key member of the service team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, fault finding, optimisation and support of Building Management Systems across multiple Defence sites.

Working in a multi‑vendor environment, you will gain exposure to a range of market‑leading technologies including Delta Controls, Johnson Controls (JCI), KMC, Vicon and Reliable Controls.

Key responsibilities include:

- Planned and reactive maintenance of BMS and control systems
- System diagnostics, fault finding and rectification
- Software modifications and minor upgrades where required
- Maintaining strong client relationships across Defence facilities
- Supporting compliance and reporting requirements
- Assisting with commissioning and project activities as the contract expands

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:





- Previous experience as a BMS Service Technician, Controls Technician or similar role
- Trade qualifications as an Electrician or Refrigeration Technician
- Current unrestricted Electrical Licence or Electrical Restricted Licence (essential)
- Experience working with Building Management Systems and HVAC controls
- Exposure to Delta Controls highly regarded
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
- The ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload
- A professional approach to customer service and stakeholder engagement
- A positive attitude and willingness to continue developing your technical skills

Eligibility Requirements

Due to the nature of the sites supported, applicants must:

- Be an Australian Citizen
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain NV1 Security Clearance
- Successfully complete police, security and background checks
