JM Plumbing and Excavation is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our growing team in Hume, ACT. This is a full-time position offering the prospect to work on a diverse range of plumbing projects in the local area. As a Plumber, you will be at the heart of our operations, delivering high-quality plumbing services to our residential and commercial clients. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction across all projects.

What you'll be doing

- Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures and fittings for residential and commercial properties
- Diagnosing plumbing problems using a range of tools and techniques, and implementing effective solutions
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and plumbing codes to ensure work meets all relevant standards and regulations
- Conducting routine inspections and maintenance work to prevent potential issues and extend the lifespan of plumbing systems
- Collaborating with other tradespeople and construction teams on larger projects
- Ensuring all work sites are kept clean, secure and compliant with occupational health and safety requirements
- Providing excellent customer service and explicit communication regarding work completed and any issues identified
- Maintaining accurate records of all work undertaken and materials used

What we're looking for

- A recognised plumbing qualification or apprenticeship completion, with current plumbing licensing and certifications as required in the ACT
- Proven experience working as a qualified plumber in residential and/or commercial settings
- Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and best practice installation techniques
- Competency in using standard plumbing tools and diagnostic equipment




- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plumbing specifications
- A solid understanding of relevant plumbing codes, building standards and safety regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex plumbing issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and other tradespeople
- A commitment to health and safety practices on all job sites
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to all work undertaken
- A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport
