About the role Acquisition Case Managers oversee compulsory land acquisitions and other government land transactions, including leases, licences, purchases, temporary occupations, underground strata matters and compensation claims. They manage cases for government infrastructure projects, handling land and compensation negotiations from start to settlement in line with legislation, policies and project deadlines. The role requires strong communication, stakeholder management and record-keeping skills, as well as the ability to plan, prioritise and solve complex issues in a high-volume environment. Acquisition Case Managers build trusted relationships, support dispute resolution, drive process improvements, and promote protected, inclusive and adaptable team operations.

What we’re looking for (Selection Criteria)

- Has experience managing land transactions and compensation matters, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, acquisition processes and risk management.
- Can plan, coordinate and deliver complex projects, effectively managing competing priorities and ensuring outcomes are achieved on time.
- Builds robust stakeholder relationships, communicates with empathy and professionalism,



and works collaboratively to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Uses critical thinking and sound judgement to analyse issues, solve complex problems and make informed decisions in a legislative and policy-driven environment.
- Drives continuous improvement, embraces innovation and remains calm, resilient and effective when working under pressure or managing challenging situations.

Qualifications and experience

- Experience or knowledge in land acquisition, property, legal, planning, or a related field; a relevant tertiary qualification will be highly regarded.
- A current Driver's Licence (mandatory).
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends and overnight travel as required (mandatory).

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
