As an Occupational Hygienist in Sydney, join a specialist consultancy where occupational hygiene actually means occupational hygiene.

Rather than spending most of your week doing asbestos surveys and clearances, the bulk of this role sits in personal exposure monitoring and understanding what the data actually means: noise, dust, RCS, chemicals and vapours, through to exposure modelling, assessment and control strategies.

For someone around the 4–5 year mark who wants to become a genuinely solid technical Hygienist, that distinction matters.

The Role

You’ll combine hands‑on field monitoring with data interpretation, technical reporting and advice to clients. You’re experienced enough to work independently on site, but you’ll have a highly technical team around you when projects become more complex.

You’ll work across:

Personal exposure monitoring for noise, dust, RCS, chemicals and vapours

Workplace exposure assessments, monitoring programs and exposure analysis





Interpretation of monitoring data and development of practical recommendations

Exposure modelling, containment and exposure control strategies

Technical reporting and professional advice directly to clients

HAZMAT and asbestos work making up approximately 10–15% of your workload, including surveys, inspections and clearances

The Team

Join a specialist technical consultancy delivering Occupational Hygiene, HAZMAT, asbestos and broader environmental risk services, working alongside experienced industry professionals and technical leaders.

You’ll join a close‑knit, female‑led technical team of seven internal staff, supported by two subcontractors. It’s an environment for someone who enjoys the science behind the work, wants access to experienced technical people and still likes getting out on site.

Experience

Around 4–5 years’ Occupational Hygiene consulting experience

Strong personal exposure monitoring across noise, dust, RCS and/or chemicals

Confident interpreting monitoring data and producing technical reports

HAZMAT/asbestos experience and SafeWork NSW LAA highly regarded
