Public Sector People are partnering with a Melbourne council to recruit an experienced Senior Statutory Planner to join their team on a temporary contract.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced planner to step into a busy statutory planning team, managing more complex applications and providing high-quality planning advice across the municipality.

The Role

- Assess and process complex planning and subdivision applications
- Manage planning permits, amendments, extensions and Section 173 Agreements
- Prepare clear and concise delegate and Council reports
- Provide technical planning advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Represent Council at VCAT where required
- Support and mentor other members of the planning team
- Work collaboratively across Council to achieve positive planning outcomes

About You

- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning
- 3+ years’ statutory planning experience
- Victorian Local Government experience highly regarded
- Robust knowledge of the Victorian planning framework and legislation
- Experience managing complex planning applications
- Confident stakeholder management, negotiation and report-writing skills
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
