The College Receptionist and First Aid Officer provides a welcoming, professional, and efficient front-of-house service while supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors. The role manages reception duties, answers enquiries, assists with administration, and supports the smooth day-to-day running of the College. The First Aid Officer provides first aid and basic care to students and staff when they are unwell or injured, maintains first aid supplies and records, and follows College health, safety, and emergency procedures. The position requires a calm, compassionate, and confidential approach, particularly when supporting students who are unwell, injured, distressed, or require additional assistance.

Key responsibilities

Provide a friendly and professional reception service to students, staff, parents, visitors and contractors.

Answer phone calls, emails and general enquiries and direct as appropriate.

Manage the College reception area and visitor sign-in procedures.

Record student attendance (late arrivals and early departures), as well as student daily movement as required.

Provide first aid and basic care to students and staff who are unwell or injured.

Assess and respond appropriately to minor injuries, illness and student wellbeing concerns within the scope of training.

Maintain accurate first aid and student health records.

Monitor first aid supplies and expiry dates.

Receive,



record and securely store student medication.

Administer medication in accordance with authorised plans and College procedures.

About you

Previous experience in reception, administration, customer service or a similar role.

Experience working in a school, college or other education workplace is desirable.

Current First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis certification.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Current Working with Children or ability to obtain.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Demonstrated understanding of child safety and the responsibility to provide a safe and supportive environment for students.

Commitment to the College's child safety, wellbeing, health and safety policies and procedures.
