CATERING MANAGER - AGED CARE EXP A MUST / EUROPEAN FOOD
Trinity Public Care is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to join our aged care facility in Lakemba, NSW. This is a full-time position offering the prospect to lead our catering operations and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents through exceptional nutrition and dining experiences.
As Catering Manager, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, menu planning and catering services within our aged care environment. This role is pivotal to ensuring our residents receive high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals that cater to their diverse dietary needs and cultural preferences. Your expertise in European cuisine combined with your aged care catering experience will be essential to delivering outstanding culinary services within a healthcare setting.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, develop and manage menus that reflect European cuisine whilst accommodating the nutritional and dietary requirements of aged care residents
- Oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure meals meet health, safety and quality standards
- Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training and performance management
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards and aged care industry guidelines
- Monitor food costs and manage catering budgets effectively to optimise profitability without compromising quality
- Liaise with nursing staff and care teams to identify and accommodate residents' specific dietary, cultural and medical requirements
- Implement and maintain appropriate food storage, handling and waste management practices
- Order and source quality ingredients and supplies from approved vendors
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning safely
- Conduct regular kitchen audits and implement improvements based on feedback and observations
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Catering Manager or senior kitchen role within aged care or healthcare facilities (essential)
- Demonstrated expertise in European cuisine preparation and menu development
- Strong knowledge of aged care dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets and therapeutic nutrition
- Current food safety certification and knowledge of food safety legislation and best practice standards
- Solid understanding of kitchen management, cost control and budgeting
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring kitchen staff
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary care teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high standards under pressure
- Physical capability to perform cooking and kitchen duties as required
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Relevant qualifications in hospitality, culinary arts or food service management (preferred)
