Hedgegrove Pet Retreat is looking for an experienced full time Supervisor to join our team in Golden Grove.

This is first and foremost a leadership role in an animal care environment .

Previous supervisory or team leader experience is essential . Animal care experience is preferred, but not essential for the right person. We are happy to train a strong, confident leader in our animal care systems.

You will work closely with our existing management team and help support the day to day operation of Hedgegrove, with a robust focus on staff communication, attention to detail, standards and follow through.

This is a hands-on role. Our supervisors work alongside the team and are expected to help with animal care, cleaning and customer service as well as leading the shift.

$70,000–$80,000 + super, depending on experience and qualifications

For the right person, there is genuine opportunity to become a key senior member of the Hedgegrove team and take on increasing operational responsibility over time.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and supporting staff during shifts
- Allocating duties and ensuring tasks are completed properly
- Maintaining animal care, cleaning and presentation standards
- Following up when something has been missed
- Giving clear direction and feedback to staff
- Assisting with staff training and development
- Handling customer enquiries and concerns professionally
- Monitoring animal wellbeing and escalating concerns when required
- Completing shift checks, records and operational paperwork
- Supporting arrivals and departures




- Assisting with feeding, cleaning, exercise and general animal care
- Supporting management with communication and day to day follow up
- Helping with photos, videos and basic social media content where appropriate

What we’re looking for:

- Previous supervisory or team-leader experience
- Confidence managing staff and giving direction
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Mature, calm and professional judgement
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Confidence dealing with staff and customer issues
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of a shift
- Comfortable working around dogs/cats/exotics of different sizes and temperaments
- Comfortable with cleaning, physical work and outdoor duties
- Availability across a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays and peak holiday periods
- Current driver’s licence and reliable transport

Highly regarded:

- Professional animal care, kennel, veterinary, daycare, grooming or pet industry experience
- Social media or content creation experience
- Photography or shortform video experience
- Staff rostering experience

This is not an entry level animal care position . We are looking for someone who already knows how to lead people, communicate clearly, maintain standards and take responsibility.

Owning pets is valuable life experience, but professional animal-care work is very different. We are prepared to train the right supervisor in our animal care systems, but we need someone who already brings confidence, maturity and leadership from day one.
