Cooling Brothers Glass Company is seeking an experienced Glass Toughening Furnace Operator to join our specialist curved glass manufacturing operation at Bent & Curved Glass in Revesby.

Our Sydney facility specialises in the manufacture of curved architectural glass for commercial and specialist projects throughout Australia.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands glass toughening, takes pride in producing quality work and wants to develop their expertise in the specialist area of curved glass manufacturing.

About the Role

Working with our Factory Manager and production team, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring our curved glass toughening furnace while achieving the right balance between quality, accuracy, production output and machine efficiency .

Key responsibilities include:

Operate and monitor the curved glass toughening furnace safely and efficiently.

Follow daily production schedules and priorities.

Review glass specifications including dimensions, thickness, radius and required curvature.

Set and adjust furnace recipes and machine parameters for different glass configurations.

Check radius, curvature and dimensional accuracy throughout production.

Monitor heating, forming and quenching performance.

Inspect finished glass for quality, distortion, surface defects and conformity to specification.

Maintain consistent quality across multiple panels and project batches.

Troubleshoot production issues and make appropriate process adjustments.

Achieve agreed production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Minimise breakages, re-cuts, waste and avoidable machine downtime.

Record successful furnace settings and recipes to improve repeatability and efficiency.

Complete required quality checks and production records.

Ensure finished products meet customer requirements, company quality standards and applicable Australian Standards.





Complete daily furnace pre-start checks and maintain a clean and safe production area.

About You

- Previous glass toughening experience is essential , with curved glass experience highly regarded.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Experience operating a glass toughening furnace.

- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

- A good understanding of furnace settings and their effect on finished glass.

- Ability to read drawings, dimensions, radii and production specifications.

- Strong problem‑solving skills.

- Excellent attention to quality and detail.

- A focus on producing work right the first time.

- A commitment to reducing breakage, rework and waste.

- A strong approach to workplace safety.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Reliability and a willingness to take ownership of their production area.
