Field Service Electrician / Technician – dual role

About the Role

As a Field Service Electrician/Technician , you’ll be responsible for ensuring residential properties comply with current smoke alarm legislation through high-quality installation, servicing, and maintenance.

You’ll work across a variety of homes, liaising with tenants, property owners, and real estate agents , delivering professional service while managing your day efficiently and safely.

You’ll also be trained to deliver additional compliance services, making this a varied and interesting role beyond standard electrical work.

This role can be four days per week if you prefer.

Key Responsibilities





- Deliver excellent customer service when dealing with property managers, tenants, residents, and private owners
- Install, service, and troubleshoot smoke alarms in line with manufacturer instructions, legislation, and best practice
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Queensland smoke alarm legislation (and NSW where applicable)
- Review and clarify work orders with the office team prior to attending jobs
- Accurately record all work via the SAI tech portal , including photos and site details
- Comply with all Queensland electrical safety regulations and internal safety policies
- Manage time effectively while maintaining quality and compliance standards

About You

You’ll likely have:

- A current QLD Electrical Licence
- A strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valuable time management and attention to detail
- Confidence working independently in the field
- Basic tech skills for using mobile job management systems
- A professional, reliable, and respectful approach when working in people’s homes
