An exciting opportunity for a Teaching & Leadership or Teaching & Research academic to develop and contribute to innovative and impactful teaching in the Doctor of Physiotherapy and other Health Sciences courses.

- Salary Package: Level B from $127,138 to $150,425 p.a. or Level C from $155,236 to $178,523 plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
- Appointment Type: Full-time, 2-year fixed term appointment
- Located at Macquarie University (Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde)

The Role

Macquarie University is proud to offer a highly respected, creative and evidence-based Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) postgraduate degree and is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our dedicated and ambitious Physiotherapy team. Our course combines contemporary coursework with over 1,000 hours of supervised clinical placements, providing students with an excellent grounding for their future career.

Reporting to the Head of School, Health Sciences and Nursing, and Course Director of Physiotherapy, you will utilise your professional and industry experience to make a critical contribution to the development and delivery of teaching within the DPT program and other Health Sciences courses. We seek a highly motivated and collaborative physiotherapist to join our School for appointment to either the Teaching and Leadership or Teaching and Research job family. You will have expertise in teaching and convening Physiotherapy and Health Sciences related programs, and research in these areas.

The Teaching & Research Academic dedicates their workload contribution to teaching, research and service including graduate research student supervision within their research as well as fulfilling service roles to the School and/or Faculty.

About You

You will possess a tertiary qualification in physiotherapy and be interested in sharing your professional experience to make a critical contribution to the development and delivery of learning and teaching within the DPT and other health sciences courses. You will have experience with, or a willingness to embrace, educational technology, blended learning and educational innovation. In addition, ideally you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the integration between research/practice and quality teaching, and how this integration can enhance student engagement.

Essential Criteria

- Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, including a PhD.
- Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated academic and professional expertise in physiotherapy and/or health sciences, with capacity to teach into at least one or more areas (musculoskeletal, neurological and/or cardiorespiratory) relevant to the Doctor of Physiotherapy program.
- Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality learning and teaching, including the design, delivery and management of lectures, tutorials, assessments and online learning.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collegial and/or multidisciplinary team environment and foster an inclusive learning experience for students.
