TECO Australia and New Zealand is a truly diversified global company. We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive workplace culture where employees are valued and empowered to succeed. As part of our commitment to supporting our team members, we are seeking an experienced Corporate Treasurer to join us.
The position is based within our Sydney head office located in Smithfield NSW.
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and current market benchmarks.
Please note we are committed to flexible work and are open to discussing alternative arrangements to ensure the right fit for the role. However, this is an in office role based in our Smithfield office. Following induction period, hybrid options may be discussed, subject to role expectations.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Treasurer owns cash, liquidity, foreign exchange, banking and payments for TECO ANZ — our Australian and New Zealand operating companies, our field services business, and the banking and project loans of our solar farm project entities.
This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership and a small team to lead. You will run the group's daily cash and forecast, execute FX and trade finance for an import-driven business, lead the accounts payable team, and be the day-to-day contact for our banks, lenders, overseas parent company and joint venture partners.
Candidates with treasury experience in an importing business, or exposure to project finance for solar farms, renewable energy or infrastructure, will be highly regarded, as that experience translates directly into this role.
- Managing the daily cash position and rolling cash-flow forecast across AUD, USD and NZD accounts, and planning funding for supplier, tax, payroll and intercompany payments.
- Monitoring foreign currency exposure, obtaining competing bank quotes and executing approved FX deals, and developing the group's FX hedging policy.
- Managing the end-to-end letter of credit process — application, amendment, document examination, settlement and closure — and maintaining the LC register.
- Issuing, renewing and releasing bank guarantees for leases, tenders and contracts, and obtaining bank letters for tenders.
- Acting as treasury lead for our solar farm project entities — bank accounts, financing options, project loan documentation, drawdowns, covenant monitoring, remittances and shareholder capital call funding.
- Managing banking relationships, facilities and annual credit reviews, bank account structures, KYC and authorised signatories across the ANZ group.
- Closing treasury balances at month-end — bank reconciliations, FX, loan and interest schedules — and maintaining treasury policy and procedures.
- Leading the accounts payable team — invoice processing, payment batch review, supplier master data controls, vendor queries, aged creditor reporting and accruals.
- Administering SAP Concur and corporate credit cards, including card reconciliations and expense policy compliance.
- Managing the company vehicle fleet and administering the insurance programme with our broker.
- Preparing the monthly treasury report for the CFO, and providing treasury schedules and confirmations for external and internal audit.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce bank fees, manual handling and payment risk.
- Undertaking ad hoc financial projects and other duties as assigned by the CFO, adapting to changing business needs.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor degree or tertiary qualifications in Accounting,
Finance or Economics is essential.
- CA or CPA qualified, or substantially progressed towards qualification.
- 5+ years' experience in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in treasury, cash management or banking operations.
- Hands-on experience with import letters of credit, bank guarantees and spot FX transactions.
- Experience supervising an accounts payable function and operating strong payment controls.
- Exposure to project finance or bank loans — drawdowns, conditions precedent and covenant reporting — will be highly regarded.
- Working knowledge of Australian business banking platforms, KYC and signatory processes.
- Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system. SAP Concur administration experience will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience working in the manufacturing, electric motors and drives, solar farm, energy solutions or infrastructure sectors (ideal but not essential).
- Experienced in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel skills, including cash-flow forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with banks, our overseas parent company, joint venture partners and colleagues across the business.
- A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
- We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to an inclusive workplace. Due to the nature of the role and operational requirements, candidates must have unrestricted and ongoing work rights in Australia. We are unable to consider applicants requiring sponsorship or holding a visa with work restrictions at this time.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary package tailored to your experience.
- The opportunity to shape the treasury function of a diversified group, including project finance in the booming renewable energy and infrastructure sector.
