With a highly experienced Board and specialised team, Invest Gold Coast is responsible for promoting our city to Australian and overseas investors, facilitating major new investment and attracting current businesses, providing independent, commercial advice to Council on investment opportunities, and continuing to support and strengthen our local business community including through growing exporting.

The Commercial Transactions team within Invest Gold Coast manages the delivery of a significant portfolio of strategic initiatives that support investment, infrastructure delivery and economic growth across the City's high-growth sectors, including Health & Wellbeing, Building Future Industries, Education & Future Skills, Tourism, Sports & Major Events, Screen & Game Production, and the Knowledge Economy.

About the role

We are growing the Commercial Transactions team and seeking a Transactions Lead to develop and deliver commercial transactions that facilitate new and planned infrastructure opportunities across the Gold Coast.

In this role, you will lead transactions throughout their full lifecycle, from project initiation through delivery in accordance with Invest Gold Coast's project management methodology. You will assess the commercial feasibility of projects and identify potential economic, social and environmental benefits to support informed decision-making.





The role also provides specialist commercial and transaction advice across feasibility studies, market-led proposals, approval pathways and delivery models. Working on complex and high-value projects, you will play a key role in shaping transaction strategies, leading stakeholder engagement, and driving the successful delivery of significant commercial outcomes for the city.

Key responsibilities:

- Facilitate and manage key stakeholder relationships including Council, Government agencies, community, business, and other external stakeholders.
- Lead and guide strategic decision making across the project lifecycle, while developing projects in accordance with appropriate management frameworks.
- Effectively manage consultants, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality and value for money.
- Develop and implement a range of transaction options that include partnering arrangements with Government or wholly private sector delivered projects on government land.
- Ensure all aspects of commercial transactions and projects are considered, including land use, planning, concept development; design; economic outcomes; capacity building; funding and governance.
- Assess and negotiate commercial terms for major developments with proponents.




- Monitor and report on progress, produce high-quality reports and recommendations efficiently and within set timeframes.
- Provide expert advice to the Manager, Project Delivery and General Manager, Commercial Transactions on complex major projects, including assessment of the work of other professionals and/or the management of external consultants, and managing risks around time, quality, and cost.
- Aid the other Invest Gold Coast workstreams in investment attraction and provide strategic direction from time to time.

About you

You are a commercially minded and outcomes-focused professional with demonstrated experience leading complex transactions, infrastructure projects, property developments, or major investment initiatives. You have strong commercial acumen, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate competing priorities while driving projects from concept through to delivery.

You are an effective communicator, confident working across government, industry and the private sector. You bring proven experience in stakeholder engagement, project feasibility assessment, commercial negotiations, and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes within established governance frameworks.

You will also have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (Town Planning, Urban Planning, Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Property Economics) and a Diploma in Project Management or equivalent demonstrated experience in effectively managing projects.
