About the Role

Sydney Local Health District has a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

This role may be required to work at any of the health centres across Sydney Local Health District and may be required to travel between health sites.

As a Speech Pathologist (Level 3), you will exercise independent judgement and proficient clinical reasoning in the provision of high quality services to clients within Community Health SLHD.



You will assist the Speech Pathology Team Leader to plan, implement, evaluate and report on evidence based clinical services, incorporating a quality improvement framework. You will also provide supervision to Level 1/2 staff, involvement in area clinical networks, and in teaching, research, and clinical practice advancement of the discipline of Speech Pathology in Community Health and within the clinical networks for Paediatric services in SLHD.

Ideal Candidate

- Degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for membership of the Speech Pathology Australia (SPAA) skilled association, with experience at Level 2 or higher and current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
- Advanced experience in the provision of client centred paediatric speech pathology services and in competent clinical decision making both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team regarding service delivery for paediatric clients and their parents/carers.
- High level written and interpersonal skills, including ability to work with families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
