Visiting Medical Officer (4 positions until 30 June 2027)

Applicants must have Australian Fellowship/Specialist Registration at time of applying.
This position will be located at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals.
This position is being advertised for the current quinquennium period, which concludes on 30 June 2027. The position may be readvertised for the new quinquennium commencing 1 July 2027, and applicants are encouraged to reapply at that time.

Essential Requirements for Appointment
- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the RANZCR or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable)
- Sound clinical knowledge in MRI, CT, US, FLUOROSCOPY AND GENERAL RADIOGRAPHY demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Holder of EPA licence.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.
Selection Criteria
- Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty.
- Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty.
- Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:
- Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational, supervision and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships.
- Maintaining and developing knowledge, skills and professional performance to the level required for contemporary practice.
- Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and translation of research into practice to improve patient safety and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system.
- Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership which is evidenced by:
