Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicatedVisiting Medical Officer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team at Canterbury Hospital!

The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G;) and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Department and Hospital as required.

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Canterbury Hospital is a busy service, providing maternity and gynaecological care to women from culturally diverse backgrounds from the local community/population. The Department provides inpatient, outpatient and consultation services in gynaecology, antenatal care and obstetrics for patients of gestation 34 weeks and above. The Department is well supported by a Paediatrics Department for neonatal care. The Visiting Medical Officer is expected to have a strong interest in obstetrics and be prepared to participate in an obstetrics on-call roster.

The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner,



registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship with the Royal Australian and Recent Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
Position is currently available.
Salaryand conditions are in accordance withthe NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
