We are seeking an experienced Data Acquisition Data Engineer to support a large and complex Federal Government data environment.

This role is focused on the acquisition and movement of data from enterprise source systems into a central data platform. You'll be building and supporting data ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Apache NiFi and Microsoft SQL Server within a secure environment.

This is a hands‑on engineering role suited to someone with strong experience in data movement, integration and ingestion who is comfortable working across enterprise source systems and up-to-date cloud and data platforms.

What you'll be doing

- Build and maintain data acquisition and ingestion pipelines.
- Move data from enterprise source systems into a central data platform.
- Develop data workflows using Azure Data Factory and Apache NiFi .
- Work with Microsoft SQL Server and other enterprise data sources.
- Troubleshoot pipeline, data movement and connectivity issues.
- Support testing, deployment and ongoing operation of data ingestion solutions.
- Work closely with data engineering, platform and technical teams.




- Contribute to reliable, repeatable and maintainable data engineering practices.

What you'll need

Mandatory:

- At least 1 year of Azure Data Factory experience .
- At least 1 year of Apache NiFi experience .
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server .
- Current NV1 security clearance or higher .
- Ability to work on-site 3-5 days per week .

Highly regarded:

- NV2 clearance.
- Melbourne-based.
- Exposure to Cloudera.
