BLG metal fabrication and powder coating – Capalaba QLD

BLG metal fabrication and powder coating is seeking a skilled Sheetmetal Fabricator / Welder to join our team. This role offers the flexibility of work whilst contributing to high-quality metal fabrication and welding projects. Based in Capalaba, QLD 4157, you will be at the heart of our operations, working on diverse fabrication tasks that require precision, expertise and a commitment to excellence. This position is crucial to delivering our clients' projects on time and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

- Fabricate sheetmetal components using precision tools and techniques to meet specified dimensions and quality standards
- Perform welding operations using various welding processes, including MIG, TIG and stick welding
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly
- Measure, mark and cut metal materials using hand tools, power tools and machinery
- Assemble and fit components prior to welding to ensure correct alignment and positioning
- Inspect finished products for defects, dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications
- Maintain and clean welding equipment and work areas in accordance with health and safety standards
- Follow all workplace safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines
- Support our powder coating operations as required

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification or extensive practical experience in sheetmetal fabrication and welding
- Proven competency in multiple welding processes (MIG & TIG)
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints




- Experience with sheetmetal tools and machinery, including bench tools, power tools and industrial equipment
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a quick-paced environment
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
- Current vaccinations as per workplace requirements
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and procedures
- Flexibility to work casual hours as required
- Preferred: Experience in powder coating or finishing processes
