Cardiac Sonographer | Team Lead | Permanent | Brisbane

Our client is a well-established cardiac diagnostics provider supporting private hospitals and medical centres across South East Queensland. With 77 staff (approx. 33 clinical and support personnel) and a strong multidisciplinary culture, our client is committed to high clinical standards, excellent patient care, and continuous improvement.

About the position

Our client is looking for a Cardiac Sonographer Team Lead to join our clients' team and take ownership of the day-to-day leadership of cardiac sonography services across 7 sites, with same-day site movement required at times.

This is a hands-on leadership role—you'll continue performing clinical cardiac testing while leading workforce planning, quality assurance, training and capability uplift. As part of the clinical services leadership group, you'll work closely with operational and clinical stakeholders to ensure a consistent, high-quality service across all locations.

Working hours: Service hours run 7:00am-7:00pm, with typical start times 7:00am-9:00am and finish times 3:00pm-6:00pm.

Typical caseload: 8-10 echoes/day including outpatient and inpatient studies, plus stress echoes. Inpatient mix includes CCU, ICU, ED, post cardiac/general surgery and interventional cardiac cases.

Key Requirements

To be successful, you will have:

- Tertiary qualification in Cardiac Sonography
- ASAR Registration
- Proven capability to continue clinical duties at Senior Cardiac Sonographer level
- Experience leading a team (or strong readiness to step into leadership), including coaching, feedback and performance support




- Strong written and verbal communication, with an ability to engage stakeholders across clinical and operational teams
- A continuous-improvement mindset (QA, competency assessment, SOP/protocol adherence and optimisation)
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites and support effective rostering/workforce coverage
- Management or business-related tertiary qualification
- Experience leading health professionals and supporting recruitment/retention initiatives
