Adult Electrical Apprentice – High Voltage Testing & Maintenance

CBR Power Services | Townsville, QLD | Commencing January 2027

CBR Power Services is seeking an Adult Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team and build a career in the specialist field of High Voltage testing, commissioning and maintenance.

n

You'll work alongside experienced HV technicians across power stations, mine sites, renewable energy facilities, Defence sites and major industrial projects throughout Queensland and interstate.

n

What you'll learn

n

Your apprenticeship will expose you to:

n

n
- Transformer testing and maintenance
n
- Protection relay, CT and VT testing
n
- HV circuit breaker and switchgear testing
n
- Electrical commissioning and diagnostic testing
n
- Transformer oil processing and condition assessment
n
- Specialist test equipment and software, including OMICRON and Megger
n
- Major mining, generation, industrial, Defence and renewable energy projects
n

n

You'll be mentored by highly skilled tradespeople and gain specialist experience that isn't commonly available in a standard electrical apprenticeship.

n

About you

We're looking for someone who has gained some life and workplace experience and is ready to commit to a long-term technical career.

You'll ideally be:

- Mechanically and technically minded
n




- Curious and interested in understanding how things work
n
- Comfortable with computers and technical software
n
- Reliable, safety focused and detail oriented
n
- Willing to ask questions and solve problems
n
- Willing to travel for project work
n
- Committed to learning and developing your skills
n

n

Previous electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, mining or industrial experience is an advantage, but not essential.

Requirements

- Ability to obtain required site medicals, inductions and clearances
