Senior Accounts Payable Officer

Somerton VIC | Full Time | $80,000–$95,000 + Super (depending on experience)

Gorski Engineering is looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer who genuinely knows high-volume Accounts Payable and is ready to take ownership of a busy, varied role.

n

We are a fast-growing Australian manufacturer with a young, vibrant team and a lot happening. We've experienced significant growth over the past four years and have expanded beyond Victoria, establishing operations in Queensland and South Australia.

Based at our Somerton head office, this is a great opportunity for an experienced AP professional who enjoys working at pace, solving problems and dealing directly with suppliers – without the daily commute into the CBD.

n

This isn't just an invoice-processing role. You'll have exposure to purchasing, supplier negotiation and our property portfolio, making this an interesting and varied senior AP position.

What you'll be doing

n

- Managing a high-volume AP function of approximately 1,500–2,000+ transactions per month
n
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving pricing, quantity and account discrepancies
n
- Supplier statement reconciliations and account management
n
- Preparing and processing supplier payments, credit notes, adjustments and journals
n
- Liaising and negotiating with suppliers on pricing, terms and account matters
n
- Managing payments across our property portfolio, including monthly, quarterly and annual obligations
n
- Assisting with month-end reconciliations and reporting
n




- Working closely with Purchasing, Stores and management to keep accounts and purchasing running smoothly
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- Ideally 5+ years' Accounts Payable experience
n
- Proven high-volume AP experience of 1,500–2,000+ transactions per month is essential
n
- Strong knowledge of accounting practices and AP processes
n
- Previous purchasing and supplier negotiation experience preferred
n
- Excellent reconciliation and problem-solving skills
n
- Strong Excel and accounting/ERP system skills
n
- Confident dealing directly with suppliers and resolving discrepancies
n
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple deadlines and recurring payments
n
- Most importantly, someone who takes ownership, works quickly and gets things done
