About the Role

Gavin Starr Pharmacy has an exciting opening for a Full-Time or Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our fun and collaborative team!

Working alongside a dedicated and expert team of pharmacists and pharmacy assistants, you will play a key role in providing exceptional care to our patients. For a candidate who is ready to prove themselves and grow with us, we offer highly competitive remuneration.

This is a retail-focused role with clear pathways to scale up your responsibilities as you build your skills.

Your key responsibilities will include:

n

- Customer Care: Build positive relationships with customers and provide friendly, professional customer service at all times.
n
- Health Advice: Assist customers with over-the-counter medication queries and provide general health and wellness information under the pharmacist's supervision.
n
- POS & Payments: Process customer payments and manage point-of-sale transactions with high accuracy and attention to detail.
n
- Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and organise deliveries of pharmaceutical stock to ensure accurate inventory control.
n
- Merchandising:



Restock shelves with over-the-counter medications and health products, ensuring displays are explicit, tidy, and safe.
n
- Admin Support: Support the pharmacist with administrative duties, including filing prescriptions and maintaining patient records.
n
- Pharmacy Upkeep: Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organised environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
n
- General Duties: Assist with broader pharmacy operations as directed by the pharmacy manager

What We're Looking For In A Successful Candidate:

- Healthcare Passion: A keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare, with a genuine desire to support customer wellbeing.
n
- Strong Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, pharmacists, and colleagues.
n
- Retail Experience: Previous retail or healthcare experience is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
n
- Core Skills: Strong numeracy and literacy skills to process transactions accurately, paired with great attention to detail regarding privacy and confidentiality regulations.
n
- Efficiency & Drive: Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
n
- Team Player: Reliability, punctuality, a strong work ethic, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Skills and experience required:

n

n
- Previous retail or customer service experience (Pharmacy or health retail experience is highly regarded but not essential).
n
- Minimum of 2 years experience in retail pharmacy preferred
n
- S2/S3 certificate is highly regarded but not required
