Job Description

Luma Pictures is seeking a skilled Mid to Senior level Animator to join our team.

n

As an Animator, you will be responsible for bringing characters, creatures, and objects to life by key frame animation.

n

You will work closely with Animation Supervisor to ensure animations integrate seamlessly into the final visual effects shots.

n

Prerequisite

n

n
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in character / feature animation for film & episodics
n
- Proficiency in Maya is required.
n
- Solid understanding of animation principles and creature/character performance.
n
- Experience working with motion capture and keyframe animation.
n
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction from leads and supervisors.
n
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
n

Skills

n

n
- Animate photorealistic characters, creatures, cameras and objects that match live-action plates and blend believably within a scene.
n
- Solid understanding of body mechanics, weight, timing, and performance.
n
- Work with matchmove, rigging, and layout teams to ensure animation assets are technically sound.
n




- Must be able to produce a high volume of shots and multiple iterations quickly and accurately.
n
- Maintain shot continuity and consistent performance throughout sequences.
n
- Work with Animation Supervisor and Animation Lead to meet project deadlines and creative expectations.
n

Nice To Have

n

n
- Familiarity with FTrack, ShotGrid, or other production tracking tools
n
- Working knowledge of rigging or scripting (Python, MEL)
n
- Previous experience in high-end feature films, episodic content
n
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine or real-time animation workflows
n
- A passion for storytelling, character development, and performance-driven animation
n
- A working knowledge of Rigging is a plus.
