Mechanical Verfication Engineer
n We're working with a growing technology business that is expanding its engineering team and looking for a Mechanical Verification Engineer to join the business.
n This is a hands‐on role focused on the verification and validation of mechanical and electro‐mechanical products, working closely with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

The Role

n

You'll be responsible for planning, carrying out and documenting verification activities to ensure products meet their required performance, reliability and quality standards.
n Key responsibilities include:

n

- Developing and executing verification and validation plans.
n
- Reviewing mechanical designs, drawings, tolerances, materials and assemblies.
n
- Carrying out environmental and durability testing.
n
- Performing structural integrity, wear, fatigue and lifecycle testing.
n
- Designing and building mechanical test fixtures, jigs and test rigs.
n
- Analysing test results and supporting root‐cause investigations.
n
- Writing test plans, procedures and verification reports.
n
- Supporting prototype assembly and preparation of test samples.
n
- Maintaining and calibrating test equipment.
n
- Supporting external testing activities where required.
n
- Working closely with design, engineering and manufacturing teams.
n
- Feeding test results into ongoing product improvements.
n
- Contributing to improvements in verification processes and test methods.
n

What We're Looking For

n

We're interested in engineers with a mechanical,



electro‐mechanical, verification, validation or product testing background who enjoy a practical, hands‐on environment.
n Ideally, you'll have:

n

n
- A degree, HND or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- 3+ years of relevant engineering or testing experience.
n
- Experience with mechanical verification, validation, product testing or reliability testing.
n
- Previous experience testing mechanical or electro‐mechanical products.
n
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerances and manufacturing processes.
n
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
n
- Experience using measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges and torque tools.
n
- Practical workshop experience.
n
- Experience writing test plans, test procedures and technical reports.
n
- Basic CAD and/or 3D printing experience.
n
- Valuable knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
n

Desirable Experience

n

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

- Environmental and reliability testing.
n
- Vibration, shock, thermal, ingress or durability testing.
n
- Designing or building test fixtures, jigs and rigs.
n
- PLC‐controlled test equipment.
n
- Pneumatics and pneumatic control.
n
- Statistical analysis of test data.
n
- FMEA/DFMEA or structured risk analysis.
n
- GD&T; and detailed mechanical drawings.
n
- Wiring to electrical schematics and soldering.
n
- Experience working with external test houses.
n
