Morwell, Victoria| Full Time – 38 Hours per week

Permanent | Band 5 $80,810.26 - $92,898.75 plus 12% superannuation

We're looking for a Local Laws Officer - Traffic &Compliance; to join our Local Laws team. In this role, you'll help enhancethe quality of life across Latrobe City by promoting community understanding,compliance and ownership of Council Local Laws and relevant legislation througheducation, engagement and professional enforcement activities.

What You'll Be Doing

- Workcollaboratively with community members to resolve concerns througheducation, guidance and compliance activities




- Developpositive relationships with residents and businesses using negotiation,conflict resolution and communication skills
- Promotea professional, approachable and customer-focused image of Council withinthe community
- Respondto customer requests, maintain records and contribute to the effectiveoperation of the Local Laws team
- Interpretand enforce relevant legislation, policies and Local Laws where required
- Participatein the emergency after-hours roster and undertake parking patrols andcompliance activities across the municipality

About You

You are passionate about customer service and enjoy workingdirectly with people to achieve positive outcomes. You bring a balancedapproach to compliance, combining education, communication and sound judgementto resolve issues effectively.

You are highly organised, able to manage competingpriorities and comfortable working independently in the community. You enjoybuilding relationships, maintaining accurate records and applying legislationin a practical and professional manner.

Key Selection Criteria

- Demonstratedability to interpret, apply and enforce relevant legislation, Local Lawsand Council policies.
- Strongcommunication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with acommitment to customer-focused service delivery.




- Abilityto undertake field-based work, including CBD parking patrols, and manage avariety of compliance matters.
- Post-tradecertificate, post-secondary qualification, Certificate IV CivicCompliance, Certificate IV Animal Control and Regulation, or willingnessto undertake study to obtain relevant qualifications.
