At DreamStoneHR, we work alongside small and growing businesses as their HR function. Our clients come to us for practical advice, sound judgement and help getting things done. That might mean guiding a manager through a difficult employee conversation, improving a workplace process or helping someone return to work safely after an injury.
We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner with strong workers compensation and work health and safety (WHS) expertise. You’ll support clients across their day-to-day HR needs and take the lead on injury management, return to work and workplace safety matters.
This role suits someone who can move comfortably between strategy and detail. You’ll advise business owners directly, manage sensitive matters with care and follow through until there is a workable outcome.
What you’ll be doing
Partnering with business owners and leaders across the full employee lifecycle, including contracts, onboarding, performance, employee issues and exits
Managing workers compensation matters, including claims coordination, communication with insurers and rehabilitation providers, and practical return to work plans
Supporting managers with suitable duties, workplace adjustments and the ongoing management of injured workers
Helping clients identify and manage WHS risks, including psychosocial hazards
Reviewing incidents and helping clients turn findings into practical improvements
Developing and improving WHS policies, procedures, records and reporting
Supporting investigations, policy development and improvements to client HR systems and processes
What you’ll bring
At least three years’ experience in a generalist HR or business partnering role
Substantial, hands‑on experience in workers compensation, injury management and return to work
Robust working knowledge of WHS obligations and experience helping workplaces manage risks in practice
The confidence to advise business owners and senior leaders directly
Excellent written communication, attention to detail and follow-through
A commercial, pragmatic approach that accounts for both employee wellbeing and business needs
Experience supporting multiple businesses, or working in a small or medium‑size organisation where you’ve owned a broad range of HR matters, would be particularly valuable.
Our office is based in Penrith. We value working together in person and offer some flexibility to help balance work and family commitments.
