About the Role

n

The JBS Prime City Feedlot is currently recruiting an experienced Animal Health Foreperson to join our leadership team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Livestock Supervisor, this role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for animal care and welfare who is looking to develop and progress their career with an industry-leading organisation.

Working closely with the Livestock Supervisor, you will coordinate the Animal Health team and oversee the day-to-day handling and care of livestock, including pen riding, livestock acclimation, hospital treatments and post-mortems. You will ensure animal treatments are administered and accurately recorded in line with JBS treatment protocols, while also managing inventory requirements including calibrations, auditing and stocktakes. A key focus of the role will be leading, engaging and developing your team, creating a positive and proactive working environment while ensuring compliance with JBS Australia's WHS, HR, Quality Assurance, Animal Welfare and Environmental requirements.

About You

- Previous livestock handling and/or feedlot experience
n
- A strong commitment to animal welfare, health and nutrition
n
- Experience leading and coordinating teams, including managing team performance
n
- Robust written and verbal communication skills
n
- A proactive approach with strong self-motivation, planning skills and initiative
n
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to engage, support and develop others

Located 45km north-west of Griffith in southern NSW, the JBS Prime City Feedlot is a 35,000 head capacity feedlot and a major supplier to the JBS Riverina Beef processing facility. Employing approximately 35 team members, Prime City Feedlot has a strong reputation for producing premium quality grain-fed beef. The 6,225 ha of dryland and irrigation farm onsite at Prime City supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.
