Hermitage Enterprises Pty Ltd We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef to manage kitchen operations at HERMITAGE ENTERPRISES PTY LTD. This full time role requires a proactive and hands-on individual with strong culinary skills and experience in kitchen management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen activities, leading the team, maintaining food quality standards, and ensuring smooth operations in a busy and fast-paced environment.

Task & responsibilities

Plan and develop menus in consultation with management, considering seasonal availability, customer demand and operational requirements.

Estimate food requirements and food costs and assist with controlling kitchen costs and wastage. Order food and kitchen supplies and maintain appropriate stock and inventory levels. Prepare, cook and present meals to the required quality and presentation standards.

Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation, cooking and presentation. Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff and allocate duties during service. Train and guide kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.

Discuss food preparation and service issues with management, kitchen staff and waiting staff. Develop and introduce recipes, menu items and seasonal specials where appropriate.



Prepare meals to accommodate dietary requirements and reasonable customer requests.

Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients and ensure appropriate food storage and stock rotation. Maintain and enforce food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety and kitchen cleanliness requirements.

Qualification & experience

Proven experience working as a Chef or in a similar senior role within the hospitality industry.

Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to guide, train, and manage kitchen staff. Sound understanding of food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and daily kitchen operations. Creative mindset with strong attention to detail and a passion for preparing high-quality food.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen environment. Flexible and adaptable to handle special events, seasonal menu changes, and varying customer requirements. A culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not essential.
