Job Description

Protech are currently seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our client's team, working across asphalt production, laboratory testing and civil construction projects.

The role will involve both laboratory and field-based testing of asphalt materials, including hot mix asphalt, binders and aggregates.

n

Flexibility to work day shift, possible night shift, weekends and away from home will be required depending on project needs.

n

ABOUT THE ROLE

- Laboratory and field-based materials testing

- Rates starting from $43.11/hr + penalties
n
- Day shift and possible night shift
n
- Monday to Sunday availability may be required
n
- Some projects may require working away from home
n
- Opportunity for ongoing work

- Casual role with full time hours

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

n

n
- Conduct laboratory and field testing of asphalt and construction materials
n
- Collect and prepare samples from production and project sites
n
- Perform density, compaction, gradation and asphalt binder testing
n
- Accurately record and report test results
n
- Conduct quality control and compliance testing
n
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
n
- Maintain laboratory safety, quality and housekeeping standards
n
- Assist with maintaining NATA accreditation requirements
n

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

n

To be considered, candidates will ideally have:

n

n
- Previous laboratory or construction materials testing experience
n
- Asphalt or civil construction experience highly regarded
n




- Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and procedures
n
- Understanding of Australian Standards, ISO 17025 and NATA requirements desirable
n
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or relevant qualification desirable
n
- Nuclear Gauge User Licence desirable
n
- Basic computer and data entry skills
n
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
n
- Good communication and teamwork skills
n
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
n
- Flexibility to work –possible night shift and away from home when required
n
