- Develop and own the overall Test Strategy aligned to program, project and business objectives.
- Define appropriate test phases, scope, approach, environments, entry and exit criteria, and quality gates.
- Determine the appropriate level of testing based on solution complexity, business criticality and delivery risk.
- Establish clear testing deliverables, milestones, dependencies and responsibilities.
- Ensure testing activities are integrated into overall delivery and release plans.
- Develop detailed test effort and resource estimates across applicable test phases.
- Work with project and delivery leadership to determine testing resource requirements and timelines.
- Identify assumptions, dependencies and constraints underpinning testing estimates.
- Review estimates as scope and delivery plans evolve.
- Provide stakeholders with clear visibility of testing effort, schedule implications and dependencies.
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- Take ownership of planning and managing SIT.
- Coordinate end-to-end testing across applications, interfaces and participating delivery teams.
- Ensure appropriate test scenarios and coverage are established based on business processes and integration points.
- Coordinate test data, environments, dependencies and execution readiness.
- Monitor SIT progress, defects, blockers and risks.
- Establish clear SIT entry and exit criteria and provide recommendations on readiness to progress to subsequent phases.

- Third-Party Testing Management

- Coordinate and govern testing activities delivered by third-party vendors, implementation partners and service providers.
- Clearly define testing responsibilities and expectations across internal and external teams.
- Review vendor test strategies, plans, coverage, evidence and completion reporting.
- Manage dependencies between Thiess teams and third-party delivery teams.
- Ensure identified defects are assigned, prioritised and progressed appropriately.
- Provide an integrated quality view across multiple delivery parties rather than relying on isolated vendor test results.

- UAT Support





- Work closely with business stakeholders to establish an effective User Acceptance Testing approach.
- Help business teams identify appropriate UAT scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Support business users with UAT planning, preparation and execution.
- Coordinate UAT readiness including environments, test data, access, defect processes and reporting.
- Provide guidance to less-experienced business testers on effective testing practices.
- Track UAT progress and provide clear visibility of outstanding defects, risks and business acceptance.
- Support stakeholders in reaching an evidence-based go-live readiness decision.

- Test Governance

- Establish a fit-for-purpose Test Governance framework which fits the organisation needs based on assessment.
- Facilitate regular governance forums and provide stakeholders with concise reporting on status, risks, defects, decisions and required actions.

- Improving Testing Maturity

- Build sustainable testing capability that can be adopted by business and technology teams beyond individual projects.

- Stakeholder Management & Communication

- Strong communication skills are critical to this position.
- The Test Manager will:
- Communicate confidently with business stakeholders, technical teams, project leadership and third-party suppliers.
- Translate complex testing issues into explicit business impacts and decisions.
- Facilitate test planning, defect triage and readiness discussions.
- Escalate quality risks clearly and constructively.
- Provide concise executive-level test status reporting.
- Challenge assumptions appropriately while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
- Build alignment between business, technology and delivery partners.

Required Skills and Experience





- Significant experience as a Test Manager / Senior Test Lead within complex enterprise technology programs.
- Strong experience developing Test Strategies and Test Plans.
- Demonstrated experience in test estimation, planning and resourcing.
- Experience coordinating testing across multiple systems, teams and vendors.
- Strong experience managing third-party testing providers and implementation partners.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and coordinating business UAT.
- Strong understanding of test governance, defect management, risk management and quality reporting.
- Ability to establish testing governance and processes in organisations with varying levels of testing maturity.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Robust leadership, organisation, prioritisation and problem-solving capability.
