We’re looking for an experienced and people-focused leader to drive the delivery of arts, culture, history, public art and community events across the City of Clarence.

Leading a passionate team, you’ll help create vibrant experiences that connect people, celebrate place and enrich community life.

As City Culture Manager, you’ll oversee a diverse portfolio including exhibitions, festivals, public art initiatives, history projects and cultural facilities, including Rosny Farm. You’ll provide strong leadership, manage resources and budgets, build meaningful partnerships, and ensure programs are delivered safely, effectively and to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing

- Leading and developing a high-performing City Culture team.
- Delivering Council’s arts, culture, history, public art, exhibition, festival and events programs.
- Overseeing Rosny Farm and other cultural facilities, including programming and community use.
- Managing budgets, contracts, grants, resources and reporting requirements.
- Ensuring programs, events and facilities operate safely, efficiently and in line with Council requirements.
- Building strong relationships with artists, community organisations, funding bodies and cultural partners.
- Managing operational, financial and WHS risks while maintaining strong governance and accountability.

What you’ll bring





- Demonstrated leadership experience delivering services and outcomes in a complex environment.
- Relevant qualifications in arts, cultural development, events management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience developing and delivering arts, cultural, community or event programs.
- Strong organisational, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing budgets, funding initiatives and reporting obligations.
- Sound understanding of governance, compliance and risk management.
- Proven ability to build capability and foster a positive team culture.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build productive partnerships with diverse groups.
- Current Tasmanian Driver Licence and National Police Check dated within 6 months.
- Local Government experience will be highly regarded.
