The Role

The successful applicant will ideally support the Department's objective of high-quality teaching and learning for students with special needs, contributing to an inclusive, safe and supportive school environment.

We are seeking a Special Needs Education Assistant who ideally displays a consistently patient and regulated demeanour, particularly when working with students who present with complex and challenging behaviours. The ability to remain composed under pressure, respond proactively, and implement consistent behaviour support strategies is desirable.

In this role, you will ideally assist teachers in delivering planned education programs and will ideally implement individual and small group programs. Additionally, you will ideally provide constructive feedbackand actively participate in monitoring and evaluation processes to support student growth and wellbeing.

Eligibility

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
