About the team

n

Fleet Services supports the City by providing maintenance, technical and fabrication services across a diverse range of vehicles, plant, equipment and infrastructure.

n

Our Fabrication team provides Council-wide boilermaker/welding and fabrication services, supporting customers and projects across different areas of the City. The team undertakes a broad range of work including repairs and modifications, structural and general fabrication, custom-built components, infrastructure-related works and site installations.

n

About the role

n

We are seeking experienced Boilermakers (internally referred to as Engineering Fabricators) to join our Fabrication team.

n

Working under the direction of the Team Leader Engineering and Fabrication, you will undertake a diverse range of boilermaker/welding, fabrication, maintenance and repair work in both workshop and site-based environments.

n

The role is not limited to Fleet work. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects supporting different Council business areas, including vehicles and plant, infrastructure assets, structural steelwork, equipment modifications, repairs and custom fabrication.

n

This is a hands-on role suited to a tradesperson who enjoys variety, problem-solving and producing quality work as part of a supportive trade team.

We're looking for people who have:

n

n
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker/welding) or equivalent trade qualification
n
- Unrestricted C Class Driver Licence
n
- Sound boilermaker, welding and fabrication skills
n
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and measurements
n




- Experience working with a range of materials and fabrication processes
n
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
n
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
n
- Good communication skills and ability to work with customers and other trades
n
- Ability to manage priorities and complete work within required timeframes
n
