The Bower Hotel is seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Chef to join our kitchen team in Toowoomba. This is an exciting prospect for a skilled chef who enjoys working in a quick-paced, high-volume environment and takes pride in producing consistently outstanding food. Our menu combines elevated pub classics with bold, flavour-driven dishes centred around charcoal and wood-fire cooking. Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you will assist with delivering smooth and efficient services while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and safety.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in line with recipes and presentation standards
- Work confidently across multiple kitchen sections
- Assist with preparation, service and day-to-day kitchen operations
- Maintain consistency, quality and attention to detail during busy services
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements
- Assist with stock rotation, portion control and waste reduction
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient workstation
- Communicate effectively with the Head Chef, kitchen team and front-of-house staff
- Contribute positively to a supportive,



professional and team-focused kitchen culture
- Develop your skills in charcoal, wood-fired and open-flame cooking

About you

- Previous experience as a Chef in a busy pub, restaurant or similar venue
- Strong cooking skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations
- The ability to remain organised and perform under pressure
- A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability, professionalism and a positive attitude
- A genuine passion for producing great food and memorable guest experiences
- Experience with charcoal or open-flame cooking is desirable but not essential
