Key Responsibilities
Store Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of booksellers to deliver exceptional service.
- Manage staff rosters, training and performance to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Foster a strong team culture aligned with Collins Booksellers values.
Customer Experience
- Ensure outstanding customer service is delivered at all times.
- Resolve complex customer enquiries or concerns professionally.
- Maintain a welcoming and engaging in-store experience for customers.
Sales & Merchandising
- Drive store sales performance and work towards achieving sales targets.
- Plan and execute merchandising displays and in-store promotions.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve results.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage stock levels to ensure availability of key titles and products.
- Oversee receiving, unpacking and merchandising of stock.
- Conduct stocktakes and manage returns to suppliers.
Financial & Operational Management
- Manage store budgets and monitor financial performance.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and compliance with operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-presented retail setting.
Community & Marketing
- Build strong relationships with local schools, libraries and community groups.
- Support store events including book signings, launches and author visits.
- Promote the store within the local community through events and partnerships.
Requirements
- Essential requirement of significant experience (5+ years) in a retail management role within the book industry.
