As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will work closely with the Business Finance Manager to deliver high-quality financial and business support services across OIR. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, overseeing month-end processing and financial close activities, and managing asset accounting functions to support accurate financial reporting and compliance.

About the role

As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:





- Be part of month-end and year-end financial close processes, including journal preparation, account reconciliations, and clearing activities.
- Managing asset accounting and reporting, including providing expert advice, maintaining asset registers, performing reconciliations, coordinating annual stocktake and delivering accurate reporting outcomes.
- Providing guidance, coaching, and training to Finance, Facilities and Procurement (FFP) staff to support effective financial operations.
- Preparing technical accounting papers and financial advice for consideration by OIR and external service providers.
- Delivering financial accounting policy advice in accordance with the department's Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM) and relevant accounting standards.
- Undertaking additional financial accounting and reporting activities to support the broader objectives of the FFP team and OIR business units.
