About the area

Student Health and Wellbeing sits within the Directorate of Student Life and Community and plays a critical role in delivering a protected, inclusive and supportive student experience. The team provides integrated wellbeing, mental health and medical services across the student lifecycle, guided by the University's Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework and Safe, Respectful and Inclusive Communities Framework.

Working collaboratively with students, academic staff, residential colleges, community organisations and specialist services, the division delivers prevention, early intervention and recovery‑focused support that promotes student wellbeing, belonging, safety and academic success.

About the opportunity

- Lead complex case management for students experiencing significant wellbeing, mental health, family and domestic violence, sexual harm, safety or inclusion‑related concerns, coordinating internal and external support services to achieve positive outcomes.
- Manage serious student incidents and provide expert advice, risk assessment and guidance to University stakeholders,



contributing to a coordinated and effective response to high‑risk and complex situations.
- Provide leadership, clinical guidance, staff training and partnership development to strengthen student support systems, referral pathways, wellbeing programs and continuous service improvement.

About you

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Counselling or a related discipline, with current registration or membership of a relevant professional association such as AASW.
- Extensive experience providing complex case management, crisis intervention, risk assessment and coordinated care for individuals with multiple and complex needs.
- Demonstrated experience managing critical incidents and high‑risk situations, using sound judgement and evidence‑based approaches in fast‑paced environments.
- Proven ability to lead and support multidisciplinary teams through coaching, clinical supervision, stakeholder engagement and collaborative problem solving.
- Highly developed communication, relationship‑building and organisational skills, with the ability to deliver training, influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities effectively.
