RHEL System Engineers (Multiple Positions)

As a result of a secured engagement with one of our National Security industry partners, Helix requires the interest of multiple RHEL Engineers to join this top tier defence industry client.

We're looking for RHEL Engineers withproven Openshift skills and experience solving complex problems, who thrive working as part of a team to push boundaries and are passionate about leveraging technology to produce world-class outcomes for critical defence and national security customers.

*NV2 clearance is a minimum requirement for this environment.

RHEL Automation Engineer essential experience & capability:

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) - strong hands-on experience building, administering, configuring, troubleshooting and supporting RHEL environments.
- OpenShift - practical experience deploying, managing and troubleshooting Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments, including pods, projects, routes, operators and cluster services.
- VMware - strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter, including virtual machine deployment, configuration, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Cisco Networking - solid understanding and hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls and network troubleshooting.
- Linux Administration - experience with system hardening, patching, package management, storage, filesystems, user/access management and performance troubleshooting.
- Scripting/Automation - experience with Ansible, Bash and/or Python for automation and configuration management.
- Networking & Security - understanding of network segmentation, load balancing, certificates,



authentication and security controls within Linux and OpenShift environments.
- Container Technologies - experience with Docker/Podman, Kubernetes and containerised applications.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting - ability to diagnose complex issues across the Linux, virtualisation, networking and OpenShift stack.
- Enterprise Infrastructure - experience supporting highly available, production enterprise environments and working within formal ITIL/Change/Incident Management processes.
- Experience working within a DevSecOps environment
- Experience mentoring jnr engineers
