About the Role

n

The Transport Assets & Operations Branch is responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance, construction and asset management services for Council's roads and associated infrastructure, including pavements, drainage, pathways, bridges and street furniture.

n

As the Field Leader - Civil, you will support the Foreman in coordinating staff, plant, equipment and resources to deliver civil construction and maintenance projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will play a key role in leading field crews and ensuring operational outcomes are achieved across a variety of works programs.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead and support civil construction and maintenance crews
n




- Coordinate daily work activities, resources and priorities
n
- Assist with supervision of staff, contractors and plant
n
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications
n
- Operate and oversee the use of civil construction equipment
n
- Monitor project progress and site safety requirements
n
- Support emergency response activities when required
n
- Promote safe work practices and team performance
n

About you

n

You are an experienced civil construction professional with strong leadership skills and a practical, hands‐on approach. You are confident organising people, plant and materials while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity and quality outcomes.

n

As a requirement for this role, you will possess:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction and maintenance activities
n
- Previous experience leading or supervising field-based teams
n
- The ability to coordinate multiple tasks and resources effectively
n
- Solid plan reading, problem-solving and decision-making skills
n
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
n
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
n
- The ability to work independently and under remote supervision
n

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness,



strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre‐employment medical assessment.
