General Labourers - Major Shutdown (October)

12-hour Shifts | Day & Night | 2-week Shutdown (11th October - 24th October)

Gilbert Labour Solutions is seeking reliable General Labourers to join our team for the major shutdown at the Tumut Kraft Mill this October. The shutdown will run for approximately 2 weeks, with 12-hour day or night shifts available. Workers can commit to the full 12-day shutdown or nominate specific days during peak periods if they are unable to work the entire duration.

Moreover, we also have work available at the Pine Tree Nursery assisting with the sowing season, providing additional opportunities for consistent labouring work before and after the shutdown.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to either gain work experience, a reference, strong income over 2 weeks, or training on an industrial site.

Edit - Please note that accommodation is not provided for this shutdown. Due to ongoing HumeLink construction works in the region, local accommodation is currently very limited, so workers travelling from outside the area will need to arrange their own lodging in advance.

About the Work





You'll be supporting shutdown crews across various areas of the mill, including:

- Industrial cleaning and housekeeping
- Assisting trades and maintenance teams
- Manual handling and equipment movement
- Pressure washing & use of industrial hoses
- Confined Space work
- Safe work in high-risk industrial environments
- Following direction from supervisors and adhering to strict safety protocols

What We're Looking For

- Reliable workers who can commit to the full shutdown period
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (day or night)
- Strong safety awareness
- Physically fit and comfortable with labour-intensive tasks

- Must have full Australian work rights

Requirements

- Ideally have a driver's licence + reliable transport
