This is a diverse, hands-on position involving outdoor work at apiary sites across Victoria and New South Wales.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting with the management and maintenance of beehives
n
- Monitoring hive health and bee wellbeing
n
- Honey harvesting, extraction, processing and packaging
n
- Queen rearing and bee genetics
n
- Pest and disease monitoring and management
n
- Assisting with pollination work
n
- Loading, transporting and unloading hives and equipment
n
- Following HACCP, biosecurity and workplace safety procedures
n
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment, vehicles and work areas
n
- Camping and working away from home when required
n

About you
n
n
- Enjoy practical, physical work in the outdoors
n
- Be reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team
n
- Have a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
n
- Be comfortable working closely with bees and have no known severe allergy to bee stings
n
- Be physically capable of safely lifting and moving hive boxes and equipment
n
- Be willing and able to camp and work away from home when required
n
- Hold a current driver's licence and have reliable transport
n
- Currently live in Australia, preferably in Victoria
n
- Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licence, or willingness to obtain one would be highly regarded
n
- Forklift licence would be highly regarded
