We are seeking a skilled and motivated Telecommunications MDU Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding of telecommunications infrastructure within Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), including apartment buildings, residential complexes and other multi-tenant properties. The role involves working across internal and external telecommunications infrastructure, including building entry points, MDF/IDF rooms, risers, cabling pathways, communications equipment and customer connections. The successful candidate will work closely with field teams, project supervisors and customers to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required industry and client standards.

Key responsibilities

- Install, maintain, test and repair telecommunications infrastructure within Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs)
- Perform telecommunications cabling and connection works within apartment buildings, residential complexes and other multi-tenant properties
- Install and maintain internal and external network infrastructure, including MDF/IDF rooms, risers, lead-ins, pathways and communications cabling
- Perform customer connection, relocation, upgrade and maintenance works within residential and commercial premises
- Conduct fault-finding, testing and diagnostics using appropriate telecommunications test equipment and tools




- Identify and rectify faults affecting customer services and network infrastructureli>
- Interpret network plans, work orders, technical documentation and building layouts
- Complete cable installation, termination, labelling and testing in accordance with project and client requirements
- Work within restricted or confined building areas, ceiling spaces, risers and telecommunications rooms where required
- Liaise professionally with customers, building managers, site representatives and other contractors

About you

- Relevant qualification or practical experience in Telecommunications, Communications, Electrical or a related field
- Proven experience in telecommunications installation, maintenance or fault-finding
- Previous experience working within MDU environments is highly desirable
- Experience with telecommunications cabling, termination, testing and fault-finding
- Ability to read and interpret network plans, work orders and technical documentation
- Understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and building network environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Legal work rights in Australia
