Lead a Brand-New Centre from the Ground Up - Newton, SA

Future Minds Early Learning Centre is opening a purpose-built, 100-place service in Newton Village Shopping Centre, in Adelaide's inner-eastern suburbs, in late 2026. We're looking for an experienced Centre Director to lead it from before the doors even open - shaping the team, the culture, and the way this centre runs, right from day one.

Future Minds is a single, purpose-built centre backed by an owner-operator who is putting genuine trust - and genuine authority - in the hands of the person who runs it day to day. This isn't a role inside a large corporate structure with layers of management.

The Opportunity

n

As Centre Director, you'll be the Nominated Supervisor for the service and the person families, educators and regulators deal with directly. You'll be involved from before opening - helping finalise policies, set up the educational program, recruit your own team, and get the centre ready for its first day.

You will help shape Future Minds' educational approach, bringing a hands-on, inquiry-based dimension to standard EYLF-based programming with purpose-designed learning spaces that go beyond a standard centre fit-out. You'll have real input into how that philosophy comes to life.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor and support a team of Early Childhood Educators and Teachers across four rooms (Nursery, Toddlers, and two Pre-School groups).

- Act as Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Person in Charge, ensuring full compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Law and National Regulations.

- Oversee day-to-day operations including staffing, rostering, ratios, CCS administration, and family communication.
n




- Play a genuinely hands-on role in recruiting your own educator team and finalising the service's policies and Quality Improvement Plan before opening.

- Support delivery of an EYLF-aligned educational program, including how our dedicated inquiry-based learning spaces are used to extend children's learning.
n
- Build strong relationships with local families and the Newton community from the centre's very first enquiry.

- Work directly with the owner-operator on the centre's establishment and ongoing growth.

About You

n

n
- Experience managing or leading an early childhood education and care service.
n
- Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ACECQA-approved), or actively working towards.
n
- Current Working with Children Check.
n
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates (or willingness to obtain before starting).
n
- Robust working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Regulations, NQS and EYLF.
n
- Confidence leading a team, making decisions and exercising delegated authority.
n
- Comfortable with the demands and the reward of opening a brand-new service, not just running an established one. Experience leading and building a new service from the ground up would be highly regarded.
