About the Role

The Wellbeing Lead (Year Level Coordinator) is responsible for leading the pastoral care, wellbeing, and community development programs for a designated year level. This role champions a proactive and preventative approach to student wellbeing, grounded in trauma-informed practice, restorative care, and the Christian values of Grace Lutheran College.

Working collaboratively with students, families, staff, and external agencies, the Wellbeing Lead provides strategic and responsive leadership to ensure every student is safe and feels safe, is valued, known, and empowered to succeed. The role promotes a culture of belonging, relational trust, personal responsibility, and growth, supporting students to navigate the opportunities and challenges of adolescence while developing resilience, agency, and positive relationships.

As a key member of the College's wellbeing team, the Wellbeing Lead plays a significant role in shaping an inclusive and supportive environment where student voice, restorative approaches, and holistic care are embedded in everyday practice.

About you

This position would suit someone withcommitment to the ethos, Christian values and teachings of the College. The suitable candidate will also have:

Tertiary qualifications and/or experience relevant to key responsibilities.

Current (or able to obtain) Queensland Teacher Registration





Demonstrated ability to teach Year 7 – 12 in at least one Learning Area with expertise and passion, leading to improved student outcomes

Demonstrated capacity for self-management, collaborative decision-making, being a member of a collaborative team, and the ability to accept, promote and manage change.

Strong knowledge and understanding of adolescent development and wellbeing.

Experience implementing trauma-informed and restorative practices within educational settings.

The ability to manage complex student matters with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.

Proven ability to work unsupervised, meet deadlines, set priorities, be well-organised and able to work under pressure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when relating to staff, students, parents/guardians and the wider College Community.
