Job Description
Nyangbul Land and Sea Manager – Aboriginal Identified Position
n
As the Nyangbul Land and Sea Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of the Land and Sea program and provide guidance and support to the Ranger team. A major focus of this position is mentoring and developing Rangers – building their skills, confidence and capability and creating opportunities for Rangers to grow within their roles.

Key responsibilities
n
Lead and coordinate the Nyangbul Land and Sea program and Ranger team
n
Supervise, support and mentor Rangers through strong, culturally appropriate leadership
n
Build Ranger capability through on-the-job mentoring, training and development
n
Plan and coordinate Ranger projects, field activities, work schedules and priorities
n
Support the delivery of Caring for Country, cultural and environmental land and sea management activities
n
Work closely with Elders, Traditional Owners, members and the broader Aboriginal community
n
Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, contractors and community partners
n
Manage program budgets, funding requirements, project deliverables and reporting
n
Identify opportunities for new projects, partnerships, funding and employment pathways
n
Ensure field activities are appropriately planned, resourced and undertaken safely
n
About you
n
Demonstrated experience leading, supervising or mentoring staff, Rangers or community-based teams
n
Experience in land management, natural resource management,
conservation, Ranger programs or a related area
n
Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community and connection to Country
n
Ability to mentor and develop Rangers with different levels of experience and capability
n
Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills
n
Ability to build respectful relationships with Elders, Traditional Owners, community and external stakeholders
n
Experience coordinating projects, budgets, funding deliverables and reporting
n
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety, particularly in field-based environments
n
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
n
Current driver's licence and ability to hold a National Police Check and WWCC
n
$110,000 per annum base salary
n
