Southcott is seeking a reliable, mechanically minded Trades Assistant to join our Emerald workshop. No hose or hydraulics experience is required—we'll provide the training you need.

Monday-to-Friday day shift

Local Emerald role—no FIFO or extended rosters

About the role

n

You'll support our workshop team with the manufacture and preparation of hydraulic hose assemblies, customer orders and general workshop activities.

n

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing things properly and wants to develop a career in the hydraulics industry.

What you'll do

n

n
- Learn to manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies
n
- Measure, cut and prepare hoses and components
n
- Operate workshop equipment following training
n
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders
n
- Assist customers at the trade counter
n
- Receive and organise stock
n
- Complete basic job documentation and data entry
n
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and secure

- Assist qualified team members with workshop tasks
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- You don't need hose or hydraulics experience. We're looking for someone with:
n
- A practical, hands-on approach
n
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence using basic hand tools
n
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
n
- Basic maths and computer skills
n
- Clear communication and a helpful attitude
n
- A commitment to working safely
n
- Previous experience in a workshop, warehouse, manufacturing, mechanical or trade environment would be helpful but is not essential.
n
- A forklift or MR truck licence would also be an advantage but is not required.
